There is no tuition fee: Saarland University's own fees page states 'If you are studying for a first degree or you are on a consecutive Master's degree programme, there are no tuition fees, but you will need to pay the normal semester fee (see above).' The programme's own page separately confirms 'Tuition fees: Not applicable.' This EUR 412.30 figure is the standard semester contribution fee charged to every enrolled student regardless of nationality or programme (institution-wide, all-students) for winter semester 2026/27. Per the official breakdown it comprises: Studierendenwerk Saarland student-services payment EUR 121.20, personal accident/theft/liability insurance EUR 1.30, AStA (General Student Committee) fee EUR 13.00, administrative charge EUR 50.00, and a nationwide semester student travel ticket EUR 226.80 (valid throughout Germany to the same extent as the 'Deutschlandticket'), totalling EUR 412.30. The amount is reviewed each semester and should be re-verified for future intakes.

Scholarships
BerufsSaarländer*in Scholarship
A monthly grant of EUR 850 for the duration of study.
Eligibility: Open to students who choose to study a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) -- this Computer Science degree qualifies. In return, recipients must undertake to work in one of Saarland's state administrative agencies for at least five years after graduating. Only 22 of these scholarships are awarded per year across all STEM programmes in Saarland, so the award is competitive rather than guaranteed; the university's own page does not publish the specific selection criteria used to choose among applicants, or state whether non-German nationals are eligible for the post-graduation civil-service placement.
Running since winter semester 2024/2025. This is separate from the nationwide Deutschlandstipendium (EUR 300/month for one year, grade- and engagement-based) that Saarland also administers via StudienStiftungSaar.

No German-language proficiency is required for the programme itself — the university states its language of instruction is English, and separately notes a German course is offered early on for English-speaking students. Applicants who use the olympiad or aptitude application tracks must additionally submit results from an accepted English test (IELTS, TOEFL, or another accepted result), per the same page's 'How to apply' section, though no minimum score for those tests is published there.
