International tuition

QAR 1,400 per credit unit

Verified

For all Undergraduate, Foundation, and Arabic for Non-Native Speakers programs students admitted starting from Fall 2023 onward · Faculty-wide rate · All students — no separate international rate

Qatar University prices undergraduate tuition per credit hour by the college offering the course, not by nationality: this QAR 1,400/credit-hour rate is the College of Engineering rate on QU's current fee table (in force for students admitted Fall 2023 onward) and applies the same to Qatari and non-Qatari students alike. Qatari nationals (and other 'tuition-exempted' students) are separately relieved of this fee entirely under a government/university exemption scheme recorded on the same page — a distinct benefit, not a lower published rate — so this is what a non-Qatari international student actually pays. QU states no single annual figure; its own Academic Load policy (see costContext) caps a full-time semester at 12-18 credit hours, so annual cost depends on load taken. Additional mandatory charges are not itemized on this page; QU's admission pages mention separate items such as a QR 200 non-refundable online-application fee and (for international/visa students) residence-permit/medical costs — confirm current ancillary fees directly with QU Admissions.

Estimated annual cost derived from QU's own published figures (not a QU-stated annual total): the College of Engineering rate is QAR 1,400/credit hour, and QU's Academic Load policy caps a full-time Fall/Spring semester at 12-18 credit hours (24-36 credit hours/year) for students in good academic standing. That implies roughly QAR 33,600-50,400/year, i.e. about USD 9,230-13,850/year at the Qatari riyal's fixed peg of QAR 3.64 = USD 1 (peg is common knowledge, not a QU-published figure). A common ~15-credit/semester (30/year) load works out to about QAR 42,000 (~USD 11,540/year), consistent with published third-party estimates. QU does not publish a single 'typical' credit load, only this minimum/maximum range.

Scientific-track and Technological-track secondary certificates are accepted for the College of Engineering; QU's College Requirements table marks the Arts-and-Humanities track as not accepted, 'for all majors except chemical engineering' (see Chemical Engineering's own entry for that stated exception).

International tuition

QAR 1,200 per credit unit

Verified

For all Undergraduate, Foundation, and Arabic for Non-Native Speakers programs students admitted starting from Fall 2023 onward · Faculty-wide rate · All students — no separate international rate

Qatar University prices undergraduate tuition per credit hour by the college offering the course, not by nationality: this QAR 1,200/credit-hour rate is the College of Arts and Sciences 'Sciences' rate on QU's current fee table (in force for students admitted Fall 2023 onward) and applies the same to Qatari and non-Qatari students alike.

Estimated annual cost derived from QU's own published figures (not a QU-stated annual total): the relevant college rate is QAR 1,200/credit hour, and QU's Academic Load policy caps a full-time Fall/Spring semester at 12-18 credit hours (24-36 credit hours/year) for students in good academic standing. That implies roughly QAR 28,800-43,200/year, i.e. about USD 7,910-11,870/year at the Qatari riyal's fixed peg of QAR 3.64 = USD 1 (peg is common knowledge, not a QU-published figure). QU does not publish a single 'typical' credit load, only this minimum/maximum range.
