International tuition
US$69,702 per year
~US$278,800 for the whole 4 years, at today's fee2026/27 · Same rate across the institution · All students — no separate international rate
This course starts in 2027, but CMU-Q has only published fees up to 2026/27. Expect the 2027 figure to be higher.
CMU-Q states outright that "Tuition on the Qatar campus is the same as the Pittsburgh campus in the United States" — the degree is a Carnegie Mellon degree at the Carnegie Mellon price, so unlike most branch campuses this one is not the cheaper route on sticker price. One rate covers every major and every nationality. The page also itemises fees on top of the USD 69,702 tuition: first-year experience fee USD 748, student activities fee USD 322, technology fee USD 490, books USD 300 and health insurance USD 938, giving a stated total of USD 72,500 (QAR 264,625) in tuition and fees, plus a stated USD 86,788 total cost of attendance for students living on campus. CMU-Q converts at approximately QAR 3.65 = USD 1. What changes the affordability picture entirely is Qatar Foundation aid: QF’s need-based grant program is open to students of ALL nationalities and pays "up to the full cost of attendance" based on family circumstances — recorded in this programme’s scholarships.

Qatar Foundation Need-Based Grant Program
Grants — aid with no repayment — of up to the full cost of attendance, funded by Qatar Foundation.
Eligibility: Admitted CMU-Q students of all nationalities, assessed on the family’s financial circumstances. For Early Decision the grant application deadline is 20 November, and international applicants outside Qatar are not eligible for financial aid in the Early Decision round (nor may they apply later if admitted through it). For Regular Decision the priority deadline is 1 February.
This need-based program, open to every nationality, is what makes CMU-Q financially reachable despite the full Carnegie Mellon sticker price. No coveragePercentage is recorded because "up to the full cost of attendance" is means-tested rather than a stated flat percentage. US citizens must also file FAFSA before QF releases a final award letter.

Academic Merit Scholarships (CMU-Q, funded by Qatar Foundation)
A limited number of merit scholarships awarded annually; amounts are not published. Can be combined with need-based grants from the QF grant program.
Eligibility: The most academically promising applicants, selected holistically in a limited number each year; submitting the QF grant application is what puts an applicant in consideration.
No published grade bar or payout amount, so no minimum* or coveragePercentage fields are recorded. CMU-Q separately describes Qatar Foundation’s Merit Scholarship Program for continuing Education City students with a 3.6 GPA or above after two semesters, and full government/corporate sponsorship routes for Qatari citizens.
