International tuition
US$15,000 per year
2026/27 · Same rate for all undergraduates · All students — no separate international rate
Nazarbayev University publishes one tuition rate for all undergraduate programs and charges Kazakhstani and international students the same USD-denominated amount; residents of Kazakhstan settle in KZT at NU's internal exchange rate (486 KZT per 1 USD, per NU's Fees and Financial Support page) rather than paying a different headline fee.

“The tuition fee for undergraduate programs is $15,000 for the 2026/2027 academic year for both local and international students.”
Most students, including most international students, pay Nazarbayev University's full published tuition — NU does not offer a KAIST-style scholarship that covers tuition for virtually every admitted student. A merit-based 'Abai (Abay Kunanbayev) Scholarship' exists for top international candidates, recommended by each school's admissions committee, and covers the tuition fee, medical insurance and a monthly stipend for those selected, but it is competitive rather than automatic. NU's Fees and Financial Support page separately lists partial fee-waiver categories (e.g. 25% for international/national Olympiad medalists, 75% for orphans or students with disabilities, 50% for employees of Kazakhstani government institutions), which are aimed mainly at the domestic fee-paying competition rather than international applicants generally.
