2025/26 · Faculty-wide rate · International students
This course starts in 2026, but METU has only published fees up to 2025/26. Expect the 2026 figure to be higher.
METU bills international undergraduates a flat rate per faculty rather than per individual programme. This is the Faculty of Engineering rate for students who started their programme in the 2023-2024 Fall semester or later (1200 USD per semester = 2400 USD/year across fall+spring); earlier cohorts and cohorts before 2020-2021 are billed the same USD rate under this table. The USD figure is converted to Turkish lira near each semester's payment date at the Central Bank's selling rate, with a lira floor set by the Turkish Official Gazette. As of this collection (5 Aug 2026) METU had not yet published a 2026/27 table; this 2025-2026 table was still the live, linked document on METU's tuition-fee page.

Scholarships
Tuition Fee Discount (International Undergraduate Students)
Exemption from fifty percent of the tuition fee for the relevant semester, for the following academic year.
Eligibility: For international undergraduate students admitted through METU's international students quota who are continuing in their programs (not newly admitted) and are within the program's normal duration of education: a cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.00 or above at the end of the spring semester. Awarded to a maximum of 10% of all registered international undergraduates per year (quota distributed across faculties); not available to students whose tuition is covered by another institution or who are enrolled in an international joint-degree program.
Awarded automatically each year based on academic performance at the end of the spring semester; no separate application is needed for currently-enrolled students who meet the CGPA threshold (eligible students are notified by e-mail). METU's CGPA is on a 4.00 scale per its own academic regulations (oidb.metu.edu.tr), though this specific page states the 3.00/3.50 figures without repeating '/4.00' next to them. The source states the discount as 'fifty percent' in words rather than as a digit, so no coveragePercentage is recorded here.

Entry requirements
English language
- TOEFL IBT — 75 overallThreshold to be exempted from METU's one-year English Preparatory Class at registration. Not required to apply for admission itself — proof of English proficiency is an optional 'additional certificate' at the application stage, only compulsory at registration for those without another qualifying document (see notes on METU EPE).
- PTE ACADEMIC — 65 overallThreshold under METU's equivalence table for PTE Academic exams taken after 12 November 2024 (55 applied to exams taken before that date). Same registration-time exemption purpose as TOEFL.
- METU EPE — 60 overallMETU's own English Proficiency Exam, sat by admitted students who do not submit a qualifying TOEFL/PTE score at registration; students who don't reach this score attend a one-year English Preparatory Class before starting the programme. IMPORTANT: as of a University Senate decision dated 23 December 2022, METU stopped accepting IELTS for this exemption (IELTS sessions taken on or after 24 December 2022 are not accepted) — a notable departure from most universities, where IELTS is normally an accepted route.

Admissions tests
- SAT I optionalMinimum total score of 1200, plus a minimum Math sub-score of 700/800, required for Computer Engineering as it sits in the Faculty of Engineering. SAT is only one of ~40 accepted routes (A-Levels, IB, AP, ACT, national exams/diplomas from specific countries, science-olympiad medals); an applicant needs to satisfy just one of them, not SAT specifically.
- International A Levels optionalMinimum grade of ABB in three A-level subjects, two relevant to the programme applied for; language subjects other than English cannot be used. One of several accepted alternatives to SAT.
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma optionalMinimum total score of 33, including at least one Higher Level course relevant to the programme applied for. One of several accepted alternatives to SAT.

“A score satisfying at least any one of these exams/qualifications is required. The criteria specified in this list represent the minimum application requirements. However, fulfilling these requirements does not guarantee admission. Admission and rejection decisions are made in line with the quotas announced for the program, based on a holistic evaluation of additional data and documents that the applicant submitted.”
